David Krut Art Resource is one of the country’s leading art book retailers with three bookstores in South Africa -one in Cape town and two in Johannesburg. The constitutional court bookstore was opened in November last year at Constitutional Hill in Braamfontein to coincide with the launch of the David Krut publication Light on a Hill. The Constitutional Court Bookstore is situated next door to the Constitutional Court visitors centre. The Court is currently a prime tourist destination in Braamfontein, Johannesburg inner city. This is due to the historical background of the remote area having being the site where political prisoners were held during the Apartheid era. The bookstore opens from Monday to Friday between 09h00 – 16h00, Saturday’s 10h00 -15h00 and we also open on special request. David Krut Art Resource Constitutional Court book store specialises in distributing South African Contemporary Art, Modern Art, Architecture, Photography, Design and South African biographies. We are currently the sole distributors of the three main books based on the building and the history of Constitutional Hill- Mapping Memory tells the stories of former prisoners who were imprisoned in the Old fort during Apartheid (the period that has marked the history of South Africa), Number four – chronicles the building of the Constitutional Court and Light on a Hill- tells the story behind the architectural structure of the Court and its surrounding areas. The bookstore in Constitutional Hill has a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere where customers can browse books and buy. Miss Kgadi Magagane the sales person is always willing to help and available at the shop for your convenience.
