David Krut Publishing celebrated the publication of two new books, Skill Set 1 Graphic Design: A Primer in South African Graphic Design and In the Footsteps of Mr. Andersson: Milestones in Swedish-Namibia Relations, at an exciting launch on Saturday, 11 October at David Krut Projects.
The author of In the Footsteps of Mr. Andersson, Swedish journalist Christer L. Pettersson, provided interesting details of how the book came together, while Peter Tejler, the Swedish Ambassador in South Africa, highlighted the significance of the book in articulating the longstanding relationship between Sweden and Namibia.
The second book, Skill Set 1 Graphic Design, was introduced by Bronwyn Law-Viljoen and she explained that this publication is not only instrumental in promoting South African graphic design, but also in illustrating that our local design vernacular is unique, yet borrows from design elements and from all over the world. She also praised the author and designer of the book, Michael MacGarry, for creating a book that truly fills a gap in South African publishing on design. |

We were delighted to welcome Peter Tejler, the Swedish Ambassador and his wife to one of their first official engagements after the Ambassador’s accreditation on Friday.
