Thomas Nozkowski: Recent Work
April 4, 2008 — May 3, 2008

Saturday 26th April 2008, New York – Kate and I visited two Chelsea galleries. Jack Shainman has a small exhibition by South African artist Anton Kannemeyer entitled The Haunt of Fears of works from Bitterkomix Issue 15, and elements from Alphabet for Democracy which was previously shown in Cape Town during the South Africa Now show (November 2006).
Pace Wildenstein, a large high profile gallery on 25th Street has recent works by Thomas Nozkowski, an abstract painter whose style reminded me of works by Klee and Mondrian plus elements of Hiroshi Sugito, a contemporary Japanese painter.

Photography is not allowed, so I have used an image from the exhibition kindly grant by the Pace Wildenstein website.

Thomas Nozkowski, Untitled (8-107), 2008, Oil on linen on panel. 28x22in/71.1×55.9cm

David Krut and Kate McCrickard have closely followed Nozkowski’s career and works are available at our gallery in New York and also in Johannesburg.
