27th May 2008 by

What has been interesting in the last period at DKW is the range of techniques used by artists working there. New Works by Wilma Cruise

23rd November 2007 by

David Krut Print Workshop has been collaborating with Wilma Cruise to produce three new prints: Harrismith, Chanticleer and I can(t) see. The prints address the issue of communication, or rather, miss-communication. Cruise was specifically interested in what could be called ‘pre-language’, or the gap that must be crossed in order for people and animals to communicate. Cruise explains that these works are “yet another exhortation to listen to the earth, to each other and to the animals.”

Cyril Coetzee in Studio

31st March 2006 by

The last time Cyril Coetzee was in the workshop he decided he wanted to reinforce certain lines in his existing image with a second etch in the acid bath. Once a second proof of the image was pulled Cyril decided to add a second aquatint plate for tonal areas. Tim prepared the plate for Cyril and he immediately began covering areas of the plate with a protective layer of hardground.
