Ludwig Wittgenstein: There Where You Are Not
|
There Where You Are Not is an album of writings and photographs that describe the sojourns of the philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein made throughout his lifetime, in his search to discover a retreat where he could live and work. The remote places to which he was drawn include the northerly landscapes of Iceland and Norway; the alpine village of Trattenbach, where he worked as a school teacher; and the late refuges that he found in Ireland, at Rosroe, “the last pool of darkness at the edge of Europe”, and County Wicklow. What these landscapes share is a quality of ‘quiet seriousness’. They also reflect aspects of his philosophy and his psychology. Price (ZA) R380.00 |
