The editors of Critical Interventions: Journal of African Art History and Visual Culture, published by Aachron (African Art Chronicles), are pleased to announce the publication of the second issue of this new journal. Critical Interventions Number 2 focuses on the subject of “Visual Publics” through aggregated case studies of visual publics in Africa, which range from commercial sign board painting in Cameroon and Cote d’Ivoire, colonial advertisements and religious billboards in Nigeria, to administrative photography in Gambia and political posters in Namibia. Critical Interventions Number 2 is guest-edited by Peter Probst. |
