Africa’s No 1 Arts Bookstore and Publisher

David Krut was in New York for the New Editions Fair featuring new works works by Ryan Arenson, William Kentridge, Deborah Bell, David Koloane, Diane Victor and Colbert Mashile recently originated and editioned at David Krut Print Workshop (DKW) in Johannesburg. Further works by Andrzej Nowicki, Suzanne McLelland, and Penny Siopis were also on display.
The quality of the work attracted a great deal of attention from fellow professional print workshops for which this Fair is a special event. Diane Victor’s 3 recent etchings, presented together with the recent TAXI Art Book on her work, was especially admired.

Our booth was next to Robert Blackburn Print Workshop whose Master Printer, Phil Sanders, recently spent a month in Johannesburg training and collaborating with the very skilled young team of printers at DKW. His visit has created awareness of the possibilities for American printers and printmaking graduates to visit Johannesburg.

DK Projects associates, Marie Van Niekerk and Andrzej Nowicki, were present at the opening event.

This was the second Fair in a week at which David Krut was representing the book and art publications in New York. The previous weekend was the New York Art Book Fair. David Krut Projects associate, Kate McCrickard, was also present at the Artist Book International, held this year at the George Pompidou Centre in Paris.
