On Saturday 24 February, FCS launch attendees were treated to a rare and exclusive reading by Nadine Gordimer herself.
Oak Tree Press, in collaboration with David Krut Publishing launched the third volume in the First Chapter Series, Nadine Gordimer’s The Conservationist. The First Chapter Series, launched in 2006, celebrates winners of the Booker Prize in a beautifully bound series of books, signed, where possible, by the authors and presented in an elegant slipcase. For each volume, Oak Tree Press and David Krut Publishing have commissioned an artist to illustrate themes of the book. For The Conservationist, which won the Booker Prize in 1974, artist Cyril Coetzee has worked with the David Krut Print Workshop to produce three delicate etchings. |
