David Krut Print Workshop has been working with Deborah Bell over this last week. The artist is currently working on some new prints, some of which are an extension of Poet, created in 2006 at DKW. While the other prints will form a new series, they are thematically linked to her earlier series “Museum Solstice Equinox”. The prints related to Poet are to do with “symbolic poetic language…the word as object”. Bell is exploring the relationship between the written word, poetry, language and image. She has created six prints, all in drypoint. In creating her new series of prints, Bell is employing drypoint, spitbite and aquatint, as well as experimenting with etching. These are still works in progress. |
