STRANGELOVE OPENING NIGHT

7th September 2007 | Other items by Fiona Pender

Srangelove’s opening at David Krut Projects proved to be a very successful affair as people poured out of the gallery onto the street. While art and fashion enthusiasts sipped champagne and strawberry juice to the sound of ambient lounge music Carlo Gibson and Ziemek Pater’s work got everyone talking. The design duo presented a series of prints created as a collaboration with the David Krut Print Workshop, which span the entire length of the gallery.

The stunning prints were complimented by a series of garments suspended on the opposite side of the gallery, the pattern for which was the inspiration behind the prints.

A selection of fantastic shoes from TerraPlana sat on huge tree-segments serving as organic plinths, while the top of the gallery showcased a unique work on card created by Strangelove leading to a meticulously designed leather suit. This one-off work was created by fusing each unique pattern piece used in the creation of the suit which perfectly echoes the contours of the female form.
