High Court Justice Albie Sachs, author of Light on a Hill (2006) and Art and Justice, forthcoming from David Krut publishing, is currently a resident scholar at the Ford Foundation in New York City. Justice Sachs is putting the last touches on the forthcoming book Art and Justice, about the art collection at the Constitutional Court building, which he has personally curated, along with wife Vanessa September. “Albie Sachs is known around the world as a courageous and committed defender of human rights,” says Mary McClymont, Vice President of the Peace and Social Justice program at the Ford Foundation. “His extensive knowledge of law and lifetime commitment to justice will make him an incredibly powerful presence for our staff and grantees. We are delighted that he has accepted our invitation to come to the Ford Foundation.” Art and Justice will be available in July in South Africa, and an American book tour is tentatively scheduled for the winter of 2009. |
