(above) Master printer Phil Sanders, and DKW Manager Jillian Ross. Master Printer and Director of the Robert Blackburn Print Studio, New York, Phil Sanders, has been invited to the David Krut Print Workshop (DKW). He will be at DKW for three weeks to work with the printers and select artists. The Robert Blackburn Studio was established in New York by Blackburn in an effort to help uplift the surrounding community through the teaching of art and printmaking. Sanders continues this tradition through his passionate ability to excite people about the craft and beauty of printmaking. As well as being a master printer, Sanders has an extensive knowledge of the work of Jasper Johns, having worked with the great artist on a number of his prints. An open day has been discussed where artists and members of the public will be able to view the work produced during his visit, exact dates will be provided when the event has been finalised. |
