Last night in New York, Columbia University’s Center for African Educaton, and the African Studies Working Group presented a screening of the film A Light on a Hill: A Tour of the Constitutional Court of South Africa, which presents Justice Albie Sachs’ popular tour of the Court building, detailing its historical significance, architecture, and the art collection Justice Sachs has been deeply involved with curating. Following the film, Justice Sachs gave a short talk on his work at the court, and fielded diverse questions from an eager and highly receptive audience that included many luminaries from the field of African Studies.
