Limited edition and unique works by Avhashoni Mainganye, Ellen Papciak-Rose, Alastair Whitton,Nathaniel Stern, Bruce Backhouse, Johan Engels, Cyril Coetzee, Robert Whitehead, Colbert Mashile, Sean Slemon, Deborah Bell and Wilma Cruise will be featured. Some of the artists will be present to discuss their work.

Alastair Whitton works as a representative for David Krut in Cape Town. This exhibition of prints produced and published at David Krut Print Workshop (DKW) in 2006 follows on from last year’s National Arts Festival show of DKW work, 25 Years of Prints and Multiples. It includes works by David Koloane, Mary Wafer, Deborah Bell, Colbert Mashile, Alastair Whitton, Bronwen Findlay, Nelson Makamo, José Ferreira, Johan Engels, Nathaniel Stern, Trasi Henen and Sean Slemon.

Alastair Whitton was also working in the studio last week, though his work could not be more different to David’s. Alastair is from Cape Town and he and I have been in regular contact since the latter part of last year. Alastair works in a very minimilist way, creating textures and patterns through line work and the re-working of images.
