Meschac Gaba: Tresses and other recent projects is a catalogue jointly published by Michael Stevenson and the Johannesburg Art Gallery to accompany exhibitions at both these venues. This catalogue features an essay by Johannesburg Art Gallery curator Khwezi Gule, and an interview with Gaba by Joost Bosland highlighting the importance of humour and play in Gaba’s work.

Drawing Show opening at David Krut Projects

It is not often that graphic design is exhibited in a gallery space, but the overwhelmingly positive response to the opening of Drawing Show at David Krut Projects (DKP) proves that design fits comfortably alongside ‘fine art’ in the canon of contemporary visual culture. The opening attracted not only interested buyers and curious eyes, but also numerous insiders from the local design industry.
